Birnam and Dunkeld Activities Information
There are many activities on offer in the Birnam and Dunkeld area.
For those who enjoy walking in the countryside, there are many walks in the surrounding areas - from a gentle stroll along the river to something a little more invigorating - to the top of Birnam Hill perhaps. Don’t forget to walk along by the river and take a look at the Birnam Oak.
Take a look at the historic Dunkeld Cathedral and admire the beautiful views up and down the River Tay. Also in Dunkeld there are some very interesting shops with some fantastic gifts and souvenirs. If you fancy a spot of relaxation and pampering there is the Hair & Beauty Salon run by Lesley at Dunkeld House.
Over in Birnam the Birnam Institute has a permanent Beatrix Potter exhibition, with the Beatrix Potter Garden right next door. They also host other exhibitions and a variety of entertainment in their theatre - from comedy to serious plays, folk music to opera. Their foyer cafe is also an ideal place for a spot of lunch or a reviving coffee.

There are also very good rail and bus links to Birnam and many days out can be arranged using public transport if you prefer not to use a car.
