About Us

The Waterbury Guesthouse has been our home since May 2003, although we have lived in the area since just before we were married in October 2000.

Although we knew that at some point in the future we would like to run a guest house, initially we both worked locally. Having worked in retail management for many years I was invited to join The Birnam House Hotel working in the office and reception greeting and helping customers, before I left to have our son Michael. David took a position at The Hilton Dunkeld House Hotel in the Wine Pantry where he expanded his knowledge of wine with his work and through study with The Wines and Spirits Education Trust.

It was only by chance one Sunday in November 2002 that we found out that our neighbours at The Waterbury Guesthouse were emigrating. After that we brought forward our plans to run a guest house and jumped in both feet first. A few months later, just twenty-four hours after moving in, we greeted our first guests and have not looked back.

Having stayed in a few guest houses and bed and breakfast establishments over the years, we have taken the best of what we have seen and made note of the worst!!! With a few ideas of our own we are certain that your stay at The Waterbury Guesthouse will be an enjoyable experience.

Last year we had a new addition to the family - a little brother for Michael called Robert.

With our fith season already underway we hope to see the return of some old faces and we very much look forward to meeting new ones too.
